Email Employment Recruitment Scam :: BEWARE
We are receiving many emails in response to an email that was sent out by someone that was representing themselves as our company EZ Auction Drop Off recruiting for a employment position.
We are NOT sending these emails out so please DO NOT RESPOND to the email or give them any of your personal information.
For more information please read more.
The emails are being sent out either from the domain job.ezado.net or ezado.net. Both domains were purchased on April 8th, 2008. We are in the process of contacting the companies that registered the domain names to them along with the hosting providers providing the email service. Below is the email that is being sent out along with the whois information on the domains.
We have studied your CV on SEEK and we would like to employ you to work with our company as an administrative assistant. Monthly pay of AU$1800.00, is guaranteed for 10-15 hours of work each week. We started selling on eBay way back in 1998. It was when we sold a single Hallmark ornament for over $300.00 that got us hooked on eBay. Up until around 2003 we only sold our own items until friends started asking us to sell some things for them. It was during this time we learned of this “new” business, eBay Drop Off Stores. After much planning we opened our eBay store front in July of 2004. Our goal then and today is to make it EZ for other people to sell on eBay and other online auctions and use our experience and reputation to maximize the money they could potentially receive. During this time we have met many wonderful people and made new friends in the process of selling $100,000.00s worth of their items. REQUIREMENTS: You have to be: 21 years or older Capable to quickly respond to all emails coming from your personal manager Constantly reachable on the phone during the daytime (providing cell phone number is required) You must have: Basic Microsoft Office skills Access to the internet during the daytime A personal cell phone A clean record. Be legally trouble-free EZ Auction Drop-Off concludes a contract with each new employee. After you sign a contract I will contact you and guide you through the whole process. I will answer all questions you have and will always stay in touch with you via email.
FREEQENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS What will be my responsibilities as administrative assistant? Administrative assistants serve as a connecting link between the company and the buyer. This role is extremely important when, for instance, a London-based seller wants to drop off his item on an Australian auction website. Our assistant will make this deal possible. The administrative assistant is involved in finding and storing all relevant sales information in his respective region, and is tasked with receiving and resending payments from the seller to the buyer. The assistant will be expected to prepare on-demand daily, weekly and monthly reports and refer incoming and outgoing mail to representatives of the management and sales department. Will I be directly involved in sales? How will I find out that a deal has been made? No, you will not be directly involved in the selling process, nor will you be required to sell anything. You will have to receive and resend all the payments in your sales area and forward all the necessary correspondence to the administration. When a buyer is not satisfied with the item purchased, the only option here is to exchange the item, as no refunds are allowed. In this case the seller and the buyer will settle this matter on their own. Once the item has been sold and the deal closed, you will receive an e-mail with the details if the sold item including : name of the client, amount transfered and full details of the made transfer. When the transaction reaches your account, you will have to cash it in your nearest bank branch and send the required sum to the seller as soon as possible (the sellers’ details will be provided by the company). Why auction drop-off? Auction drop-off is a very convenient service enabling clients to sell their items at the best possible time and price. We offer our clients comprehensive support from examining the item and highlighting its advantages to taking professional snapshots of the item. We then complete the listing form and place the item in the right auction category. Our job also involves determining the best time for the start of the auction. We notify our client once the auction starts and when the client scores a sale. During the auction we give advice to buyers, accept payments and return change when necessary. We also take care of wrapping the item and delivering it to the buyer, along with some other things that are instrumental to a perfect sale. Who sells the items? In our case, the seller’s location is unimportant. Our sellers are everywhere: in Los Angeles, Berlin, Warsaw, Moscow, you name it. Our sellers are experienced professionals with an impressive record of 98% of successful deals. At least 30 of them are qualified to work on Ebay, Qxl, and Amazon online auctions. Where are the items dropped off? The items are dropped off on the websites of such major online auctions as Ebay US, Amazon Auctions, Big Deals, Ebay, QXL(UK Auctions), and suchlike. What items are usually sold? The most hot selling items are watches, silver and golden wares, collectibles, electronic appliances. What benefits will I have as an employee of your company? All our employees have a two-week paid vacation twice a year. You can go on your first vacation after working with the company for three months. As our employee, you will receive a catalog with our items that are available at huge discounts. What’s more, we will pay all taxes reported in your tax returns after you send us an invoice at the end of each month. How much should I invest to start working with you? How will I receive my pay? There are no costs to begin. All fees related to this employment are covered by the company. The salary ranges during trial period AU$1,500.00 - AU$1,700.00. You will be keeping 5% from every transfer that you will receive from a client. If at the end of the month your income is below AU$1,500.00, we will send you the difference either as a wire transfer or as a check. We will answer all your questions with pleasure and will be glad to receive your application at: recruitment@ezado.net Sincerely yours, EZADO Recruitment Department (recruitment@ezado.net) Permissions This message is not a spam. The purpose of the action is to collect the personal banking detailed information. Please post the scam mail to http://www.fraudwatchers.org website.
Thanks

Thank you Johnson for providing more information.

The scam is a little more elaborate than collecting your banking details. They don’t actually ask you to give out information that endangers your own accounts as such. Basically they want to forward payments into your account for you to then on-send the required amount (less your 5% commission) to another account that they designate. In essence it’s money laundering. The money that was placed in your account has been stolen ‘on-line’ from a bank account that they have either hacked into or stolen the details for. The money shows up in your account as per instructions they send you, from the ‘buyer’ they have ‘nominated’. You simply withdraw the amount, and using Western Union, forward the money to their ‘nominated seller’.
I know from experience - the crowd I was suckered by, came through via ’seek’ with the same basic spiel though they didn’t use EZADO, but another ebay drop-off site which made it look quite legitimate. The day the first transfer arrived in my account (for $3990.00) my account was frozen by my bank. The transferred money had been flagged by the bank it had been sent from as having been stolen, and as soon as it hit my account, the banks fraud squad was on it. I was lucky. My bank was very helpful. But it still took a full 7 days before I could access my account again. The guy from the banks fraud squad said this was a new twist in money laundering, but the banks are onto it.
Hope this helps
Thanks
Ron

She is using a gmail account for correspondence under april.colangelo@gmail.com.

You will be working with 2-3 sellers. This is a work at home position. The buyer will forward the payment to the administrative assistant’s account, while the assistant will forward the payment to the seller. All of our products are sold through major sites such as ebay, qxl, amazon, and big deals, not through personal websites. We are planning to hire 5-10 administrative assistants within Australia and New Zealand. There are no costs involved. You will need to email all of the correspondence to us, simply to this email address. You do not need to send it to various recipients. We will do that. As mentioned previously, you will receive step by step guidance and support. There is no prior test to begin. We respond to successful candidates only. When all your questions will be answered, I’ll send you an agreement to sign.
Thank you,
April.

Hey guys, I was unfortunate enough to receive two e-mails too, which I was confused about, seeing as though I had applied for a few admin. positions through SEEK in January/February.
I received one e-mail from pascal.kistler@gmail.com, and another from bradley.avis@gmail.com. I was a bit sus at first, so thank God the real EZ Auction Drop Off posted the notification about the scam!
Very elaborate and thought out, I feel genuinely sorry for the poor people who really need a job and jump at this opportunity.
Thank you for the warning, guys!

Always check the the source of the e-mail out before considering to answer them. It can save you a lot of future grief. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. I received this letter from a person who claims to be Sue Blythe today.
Dear Edmund , after examining your resume we decided to invite you to work with our company as our administrative assistant. You will receive $2,000 per month, working around 10-12 hours a week. Our main trading specializations involve products sale and resale, as well as auction drop off. We started selling on eBay way back in 1998. It was when we sold a single Hallmark ornament for over $300.00 that got us hooked on eBay. Up until around 2003 we only sold our own items until friends started asking us to sell some things for them. It was during this time we learned of this new business, eBay Drop Off Stores. After much planning we opened our eBay store front in July of 2004. We have maintained a 99+ % of positive feedback constantly for more than eight years. This background makes EZ Drop-Off uniquely qualified to market all kinds of collectibles, art, and jewelry on eBay. Our work involves providing auction drop-off services that allow clients to drop off no longer needed
items with professional sellers help.
Who sells the items?
The seller’s location is unimportant for us. Our sellers are everywhere: in Los Angeles, Berlin, Warsaw, Moscow. Our sellers are experienced professionals with an impressive record of 98% of successful deals on lost of online auctions. More than 30 of them are qualified to work on Ebay, Qxl, and Amazon online auctions.
What will be my responsibilities as administrative assistant?
Administrative assistants serve as a connecting link between the seller and the buyer. This role is extremely important when, for instance, a London-based seller wants to drop off his item on an Australian auction website. Our assistant will make this deal possible. The administrative
assistant is involved in storing all relevant sales information in his respective region, and is tasked with receiving payments from clients and forwarding them to the seller. The assistant will be expected to prepare on-demand daily, weekly and monthly reports and refer incoming and outgoing mail to representatives of the management and sales department.
Will I be directly involved in sales? How will I find out that a deal has
been made?
No, you will not be directly involved in the selling process, nor will you be required to sell anything. You will have to accept payments in your sales area and forward all the necessary correspondence to the administration. When a buyer is not satisfied with the item purchased, the
only option here is to exchange the item, as no refunds are allowed. In this case the seller and the buyer will settle this matter on their own. Once the item has been sold and the deal closed, you will receive an e-mail with the purchase information detailing the price of the item sold and its buyer.
What benefits will I have as an employee of your company?
All our employees have a two-week paid vacation twice a year. You can go on your first vacation after working with the company for three months. As our employee, you will receive a catalogue with our items that are available at huge discounts. What’s more, we will pay all taxes reported in
your tax returns after you send us an invoice at the end of each month.
How much should I invest to start working with you? How will I receive my
pay?
You will incur no expenses by starting to work with us. All expenditures that you may incur while performing your job will be covered by the company. Your monthly salary can amount to $2,000-2,300. A 5-percent commission on each deal managed by you will be credited to your account.
Your minimum salary after completing the trial period will be $2,200. If your income falls short of this minimum level, you will receive the amount of the shortfall by check or bank transfer.
For details, e-mail us at: vacancies@ezado.org
Sincerely yours,
Sue Blythe.

I have contacted eNom MULTIPLE Times about this and they have done nothing or replied. As far as I am concerned they SUCK as bad as the people pulling this scam.
I have also contacted Seek.com and they suck just as bad as I have gotten no replies from them about this situation.
Not sure what else to do, even if they stop using our company’s information they will just move on to another and get more people to fall for their scam.

The excitement soon disappeared when I read the rest of the email. It looked dodgy and confusing as I don’t remember applying for a job with so few hours. So I googled it and found this place. I wouldn’t have replied to it anyway, but this site confirmed it was a scam. Thanks guys.

I just received one yesterday. I was so happy and guess what? i did my research and found this site
The company was different from this one you are talking about and it claims to be an Ebay Auction drop off site as well. It is registered by Enom as well but the registrar is a different one. I Will post more info. By the way the email is slightly different when its mentioned the pay scale (from $2000 to 2300) but the vacation twice a year, is the same Bul S!

Hey
I found this website after I applied at the “real” website for EZ Auction Drop Off. Applied for a CSR rep. If you ever get an email from someone you don’t remember, always google the name of the company first and go to the site from the search results. Start your research from there. Dont ever click a link from an email!!!! Research research research!!

this is the only website we have. We do have other domain names but they all redirect to ezado.com
we own EZAuctionDropOff.com and EasyAuctionDropOff.com.
Would love to know what the other website is that looks similar.
